The systems create an irradiation zone in the upper region of most space. The infectious agents are exposed to the UV irradiation where they are killed when they are lifted into the upper air.

UV-C installations are a relatively inexpensive way to improve indoor environmental quality. Airborne and surface pathogens can transmit infectious diseases.

The technology can be used to continuously reduce or prevent infectious pathogens from growing on or in school air and surfaces.
